Today  nifty closed below 11650 level, at 61 points. The sensex ended  at 38700 below 162 points. Gujarat Gas was trading 7% higher at Rupees 164 on the BSE. Gujarat Gas shares rallied 9% to Rupees 168 in intra-day trade on the BSE on Monday, NIIT Technologies was down 3% to Rupees 1311 on the BSE in intra-day trade on Monday. ICICI Lombard General Insurance shares hit an all-time high of Rupees1057, up 2%, in intra-day trade on the BSE.

While the day witnessed solid buying in bluechips such as Reliance Industries, HCL Tech, HDFC Bank and TCS, the gains in the index were capped by drubbing in counters including Sun Pharma, Bharti Airtel and L& T. all other indices ended in the red with the pharma stocks bleeding the most. The Nifty Pharma pack lost nearly 3 %to end the day at 8,690.

The benchmark indices settled around 1 per cent lower on Monday tracking weakness in the Asian markets and rise in global oil prices. The S&P BSE Sensex ended at 34,813, down 346 points (-0.98 per cent), while the broader Nifty50 index settled at 10,482, down 103 points(-0.97 per cent).Among the sectoral indices, the Nifty PSU Bank index fell 2.1 per cent weighed by Oriental Bank of Commerce. The Nifty Auto index, too, declined 2.4 per cent led by fall in Tata Motors and Hero MotoCorp. However, the Nifty IT index rose 0.7 per cent led by a rise in the share prices of Tech Mahindra and Infosys.Titan Company is ended 6 per cent higher at Rs 899 on the BSE after the company reported an 8.34 per cent rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 301.11 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2018, dragged by provisions made for its corporate deposits in the IL&FS group. Total income during the quarter under review stood at Rs 4,595.13 crore verus Rs 3,603.01 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal.

The S&P BSE Sensex partially recovered after crashing  1,496 points in from the day's high to settle 280 points lower at 36,842 on Friday. The index had hit an intra-day high of 37,489.24 before crashing to the day's low of 35,993.64.The Nifty 50 index, on the other hand, hit a low of 10,866 levels, but settled 91 points lower at 11,143.The decline came on the back of a sharp fall in NBFC stocks. DHFL skidded over 50% in intraday trade on fears of a liquidity crisis. The management, however, assuaged investor concerns and said the company has not defaulted on any repayments.
