The  Sensex ended at 36,579, up 192 points or 0.53 %, while the broader Nifty settled at 10,962, up 55 points or 0.50 %The benchmark indices settled 0.5% higher on Monday led by market heavyweights Reliance Industries, Sun Pharma and select information technology and private bank stocks.Shares of Larsen & Toubro recovered after falling 3 %to Rs 1,275 apiece on BSE even as the Securities and Exchange Board of India  denied approval to the company’s Rs 9,000-crore share buyback plan, citing compliance issues over its post-buyback debt-equity ratio.L&T had proposed a buyback of up to 61 million equity shares from its equity shareholders as on the record date, being October 15, 2018, on a proportionate basis by way of the tender offer route through the stock exchange mechanism at a price of Rs 1,475 per equity share.

The  Equity market  ended in the negativefor the third consecutive day on Monday. The Nifty ended at  10783 down 57 points . Nifty is trading in very narrow range since last 5-6 weeks but we have seen some positive stock specific movement in last one month. Among the sectoral indices, metal stocks lost the most with the Nifty Metal index ending 1 %lower at 2,939.35. The Nifty Bank index endedat 27,248.25. On the other hand, pharma stocks bucked the trend and closed over half a per cent. Shares of Avenue Supermarts, which owns and operates D-Mart supermarket chain, set of numbers for the quarter ended December 31, 2018The company has posted 2.1 %year-on-year growth in net profit at Rs 257 crore. It had a profit of Rs 252 crore in the same quarter last fiscal.

The Sensex Ended at 36010, down 97 points , while the Nifty ended at 10,795, down 27 points .The benchmark indices settled marginally lower on Friday weighed by IT bellwether Tata Consultancy Services and select banking and automobile stocks. Shares of Eveready Industries India rallied 18% to Rs 214 on the BSE in early trade on reports that promoter B M Khaitan is likely to sell the flagship company, a leader in dry cell batteries and flashlights.“The B M Khaitan-led Williamson Magor is selling its flagship Eveready Industries, triggering an auction process for one of the country’s oldest consumer brands,”.“The promoter, which owns 45% in the publicly traded Eveready, is said to have mandated Kotak Mahindra Bank for the potential sale, which could attract the interest of foreign and domestic strategic acquirers as well as private equity buyout specialist,” it added.TCS falls over 2%.IT major Infosys on Friday reported a 29.6 per cent YoY fall in its net profit at Rs 3,609 crore for third quarter of FY19.The company had posted net profit of Rs 5,129 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. On sequential basis, PAT fell 12.18 per cent. The company also announced special dividend of Rs 4 and fixed January 25, 2019 as record date for it and January 28, 2019 as its payment dateIn line with expectations, The company said it would buyback 103,250,000 equity shares, which accounts for 2.36 per cent of the paid-up capital of the company as of December 31, 2018 The buyback size stands at Rs 8,260 crore at a maximum price of Rs 800 per share.
