MARKET SUMMARY 27-NOV-18

The benchmark indices ended higher for the second consecutive day on Tuesday aided by a rise in information technology (IT) and public sector banking stocks.
The S&P BSE Sensex ended at 33,513, up 159 points (0.45 per cent), while the broader Nifty50 index settled at 10,686, up 57 points (0.54 per cent).Among sectoral indices, the Nifty IT index settled 1.43 per cent higher led by a rise in the shares of Infosys and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), while the Nifty PSU Bank rose 1.01 per cent led by Bank of India and State Bank of India .
In key stocks, YES Bank fell 3.03 per cent to Rs 182.20 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) after international credit ratings agency Moody's downgraded the private bank's ratings and changed their outlook to negative. The stock traded in the red during the day as a news report suggested that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Monday began examining the private bank's exposure to various Non-Banking Finance Companies (NBFCs).
In the broader market, S&P BSE Midcap index
settled 0.13 per cent higher at 14,910, while S&P BSE SmallCap rose 0.43 per cent at 14,391.
On Tuesday, the rupee moved in a narrow range of 70.72-71.02 per dollar.

The benchmark indices snapped out of a three-session losing streak, as they settled around  1 per cent higher on Monday led by a rise in the shares of private banks and fast moving consumer goods (FMCG).
The S&P BSE Sensex ended at 35,354, up 373 points or 1.1 per cent, while the broader Nifty50 index settled at 10,629, up 102 points or 1 per cent.
In the broader market, S&P BSE MidCap index ended largely flat at 14,890 levels, while S&P BSE SmallCap index settled a tad lower at 14,329 levels.
In the sectoral universe, the Nifty FMCG index ended 2.4 per cent higher led by Dabur India, Colgate Palmolive (India) and Hindustan Unilever, while the Nifty Bank index settled 1.4 per cent higher led by Axis Bank.
Among individual stocks, shares of Bharti Airtel ended 2.1 per cent higher at Rs 335 apiece on BSE after the telecom operator said its African unit has appointed global investment banks for a proposed initial public offering (IPO) on an international stock exchange
.

The benchmark indices ended lower for the third consecutive session, settling over 0.5 per cent lower led by fall in banking and metal stocks.The S&P BSE Sensex ended at 34,981, down 219 points or 0.6 per cent, while the broader Nifty50 index settled at 10,527, down 73 points or 0.7 per cent. Among individual stocks, Adani Gas rose 14 per cent to Rs 110.85 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Thursday, extending its rally of over 25% in the past two days. the company entered the Rs 100-billion market capitalisation (market cap) club. In the sectoral indices, Nifty Metal index, the top sectoral loser, fell 1.8 per cent weighed by Hindalco Industries and NMDC. The Nifty Bank too slipped 1 per cent due to a fall in The Federal Bank and Axis Bank.

The Nifty50 had hit a low of 10,562 in morning trade before recovering losses partially in late noon deals..!!Dr. Reddy's Laboratories rose 6.4 per cent to Rs 2,600.45 on the National Stock Exchange after a US appeals court on Tuesday allowed the generic drug company to sell a copycat version of the Indivior Plc opioid treatment Suboxone Film, sending Indivior's stock price down more than 40 per cent, the biggest sectoral loser of the day, settled 2.8 per cent lower led by a fall in the shares of Tata Consultancy Services and Infosys which declined 3.5 per cent and 3.4 per cent respectively.

The benchmark indices ended nearly 1 per cent higher on Monday ahead of the outcome of the Reserve Bank of India'sboard meeting.Over the past few days, the government and the RBI have had discussions in a bid to arrive at a common ground on at least two demands of the government  easing PCA norms for some banks along with aligning the regulatory capital requirement of banks with international norms and a special dispensation for MSMEs.The S&P BSE Sensex ended at 35,775, up 318 points or 0.9 per cent, while the broader Nifty50 index settled at 10,763, up 81 points or 0.8 per cent.Among key stocks, YES Bank settled 7.8 per cent higher at Rs 205.95 on the NSE after ICRA Ratings retained its overall long-term rating of 'ICRA AA+' on the bank. The announcement was made on Saturday, 17 November 2018.Jet Airways fell 6.9 per cent to Rs 322.50 on the National Stock Exchange after Tata Sons said on Friday that it was in preliminary talks with struggling Jet Airways but has not made a proposal to acquire a stake, cooling speculation that a deal was imminent.In key sectors, the Nifty PSU Bank index ended 0.75 per cent lower weighed by Oriental Bank of Commerce and State Bank of India . On the other hand, Nifty FMCG index rose 1.7 per cent led by a rise in Dabur India and ITC.The rupee traded on a firm note on Monday after opening slightly weaker. The domestic currency had slipped 72.08 against the dollar in early trade but bounced back to 71.55 in intra-day trade. It had ended at 71.92 against the greenback on Friday.

Shares of ICICI Bank, Larsen & Toubro (L&T), State Bank of India (SBI) and Axis Bank were among the S&P BSE Sensex index stocks, rising over 15% during benchmark index's over 2,000-point rally in three weeks.At 12:45 PM; the S&P BSE Sensex was trading at 35,464 levels, rallied 2,115 points or 6.3% from its October 26 level of 33,349 Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC), Maruti Suzuki India, Reliance Industries, Bharti Airtel and Adani Ports too outperformed the market by gaining in the range of 8% to 14% during the period. The equity market bounced back from its recent low on account of continued foreign fund inflow and appreciating rupee. Positive leads from the US markets on optimism that the US and China may resolve their trade dispute too influenced sentiments.Thus far in November, foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) have made net inflow of Rs 29.67 billion in equities till Thursday, provisional data shows. They had reported a record net outflow of Rs 292 billion during the month October.The beaten down stocks from the sectors such as cement, paints, oil marketing companies, consumption led by fast moving consumer goods, aviation and financials outperformed the S&P BSE Sensex in the past three weeks. Around 226 stocks from the S&P BSE 500 index beat the market by gaining over 7% during the period. Linde India, Jet Airways, PNB Housing Finance, Adani Transmission, Adani Power, Bandhan Bank and Radico Khaitan were up in the range of 25% to 63%.ICICI Bank (Rs 375) and Divi’s Laboratories (Rs 1,574) were trading at their respective all-time high level after reporting a better-than-expected September quarter (Q2FY19) result.L&T touched an intra-day high of Rs 1,413 today, was 4% away from its record high level of Rs 1,470

The benchmark indices ended marginally higher on Thursday led by a rise in the banking and financial stocks. The S&P BSE Sensex ended at 35,261, up 119 points, while the broader Nifty50 index settled at 10,617, up 40 points.Among the sectoral indices, the Nifty Financial Services index settled 1.1 per cent higher led by a rise in the share prices of Max Financial Services, Power Finance Corporation and Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services. The Nifty Bank index, too, ended 0.9 per cent higher led by IDFC Bank and Axis Bank.YES Bank fell 7.3 per cent to Rs 206.30 on the BSE after Ashok Chawla, the bank's non-executive chairman, stepped down with immediate effect, following his name appearing in Aircel-Maxis controversy. Independent Director Vasant Gujarathi has also quit, citing personal commitments. The bank's board has appointed Uttam Prakash Agarwal as additional director (Independent) for five years, subject to shareholder’s approval.
Vodafone Idea ended 10.6 per cent lower at Rs 37.05 on the BSE after the company reported a net loss of Rs 49.7 billion on a revenue of Rs 120.2 billion. For the July-September quarter, earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda) declined 28.7 per cent to Rs 9.8 billion.The 
rupee is traded on a firm note on Thursday having risen to a near two-month high of 71.86 against the dollar in intra-day trade, up from its previous close of 72.31 against the greenback.

The domestic benchmark indices ended with sharp gains on Tuesday, amid recovery in Asian markets, dip in oil prices and buying in energy and banking stocks.
The S&P BSE 
Sensex gained 332 points or 1 per cent to settle at 35,144 while NSE's Nifty50 index gained 100 points or 1 per cent to close at 10,583. Among sectoral indices, Nifty Pharma index ended 1 per cent lower, weighed by Sun Pharma and Aurobindo Pharma. Realty stocks, too, lost ground in the trade with the Nifty Realty index ending at 221.40, down 0.61 per centAmong individual stocks, Radico Khaitan rallied 8 per cent to Rs 441, extending their last four weeks' gain on the BSE, after the company reported a strong 73 per cent year-on-year (Y-o-Y) jump in net profit at Rs 495 million in September quarter (Q2FY19). The liquor firm had reported a profit of Rs 286 million in the year-ago quarter.
 Operational revenue grew 28 per cent to Rs 19.06 billion on Y-o-Y basis. EBITDA margin expanded 300 basis points (bps) Y-o-Y to 17.71 per cent in Q2FY19

However, the Nifty IT index rose 0.7 per cent led by a rise in the share prices of Tech Mahindra and Infosys.Titan Company is ended 6 per cent higher at Rs 899 on the BSE after the company reported an 8.34 per cent rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 301.11 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2018, dragged by provisions made for its corporate deposits in the IL&FS group. Total income during the quarter under review stood at Rs 4,595.13 crore verus Rs 3,603.01 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal.

The benchmark indices settled over 1.5 per cent higher on Friday led by a sharp rise in automobile stocks amid a jump in the Asian markets which rose as China and the United States expressed optimism about resolving their bruising trade war.
The S&P BSE Sensex ended at 35,012, up 580 points (up 1.8 per cent), while the broader Nifty50 index settled at 10,553, up 173 points (up 1.7 per cent). The indices ended over 5 per cent higher this week, making it the biggest weekly gain since May 2016.Among the sectoral indices, Nifty Auto index rose 4.2 per cent led by a rise in Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors and Hero MotoCorp. The Nifty Bank index, too, ended 1.5 per cent led by IndusInd Bank and Axis Bank.In stocks, the oil and gas companies rallied led by BPCL which rose 6.4 per cent to Rs 301 on the BSE while IOC ended nearly 5 per cent higher at Rs 148.The rupee firmed against the US dollar, reclaiming the 72-per-dollar levels. The Indian currency rose to 72.53 against the greenback in intra-day trade, up from its previous close of 73.45 per dollar

MARKEET SUMMERY OF 1- NOV-2018

The benchmark indices ended largely flat on Thursday.
The S&P BSE Sensex ended at 34,432, down 10 points (0.03 per cent), while the broader Nifty50 index settled at 10,380, down 6 points (0.06 per cent).Among individual stocks, YES Bank rallied 9.3 per cent to Rs 205.60 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE). Shares of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) rose 2.6 per cent to Rs 1,331.10 per share after the company reported 23 per cent year-on-year (Y-o-Y) jump in its consolidated net profit at Rs 22.30 billion in September quarter (Q2FY19). The consolidated gross revenue during the quarter grew 21 per cent at Rs 320.81 billion on a Y-o-Y basis.
Among sectoral indices, 
Nifty IT index was the top loser of the day, falling 2.1 per cent weighed by HCL Technologies and Infosys. On the other hand, among gainers, the Nifty Metal index rose 1.3 per cent led by NMDC.
In the broader markets, both the S&P 
BSE MidCap and S&P BSE SmallCap rose 1 per cent each to end at 14,773 and 14,356 respectively.
